Christmas Parade

 M marched in the Christmas Parade this year.  

She also had a major break through with her piano.  She learned Wedding Day at Troldjaugen 4 years ago and never played it for student day.  She forgot it and couldn't bear to re-learn it earlier this summer.  Monday night she sat down and cranked it out.  She will play Moonlight Sonata, Wedding Day, and Dream of the Isles for student day.  She's got them all mostly learned.  That is a good place to be 4 months out.  Phew!   She was learning Clair De Lune and it was beautiful, but she still had 2/3 to learn.  I'm so glad it worked out for her brain to shake out Wedding Day.  Whooo Brain!

 Here she is getting dropped off for the first band competition of the year.  She's such a great kid.

We went to Gtowne so M could do a zookeeper experience. We got to play solitaire with grandma and visit with Calvin and Ann.

We were signed up for this earlier in the summer but they shut down the program when covid numbers were high.  The just barely opened it back up and we were able to get a day before school started.  M loved it.

M is a very enthusiastic section leader.  She participates in all the spirit days.  It's great for her to have this impact.

Camp Camp Camp

 M went on a trip to Nauvoo, then a week at camp using sign language.  The last two weeks she was at band camp.  This week she will be a counselor in training for a camp with the county naturalist.  The Monday after that she goes to Gtowne to be a zookeeper for a day.  She is busy!

Last night she went to see a movie with friends.  On the way I realized that she hadn't gone to a movie since we went to see Frozen 9 years ago.  I talked her through the ticket buying process and recommended she just watch how the people in front of her do it.

She took ASL and Driver's Ed through FLVS this summer and plans to get her Learner's Permit on Monday!

 M's been doing some fun creative work this summer.  She's also doing some piano, ASL and driver's Ed.

Girls camp and surf camp

M got to go rock climbing and have a lot of fun at girls camp.  She was a jock in the 4th year skit.

For her birthday she made her own sheet cake with whip cream decorations and strawberries.  She requested hamburgers for her birthday dinner.  Her big gift was a week of surf camp!

mini bag of babies

 I got M a mini IKEA bag last week.  She liked it and has filled it with mini plastic babies and sea creatures.  Everything is less than 1 inch.  So cute!

M teacher's favorite

 M has a class she is the class president of because she was the only one that asked the teacher how to become class president.  The teacher had after school classes and club meetings.  M enjoyed participating.  The teacher had cancer and was finishing chemo.  M prepared refreshments and decorations for a celebration.  She also made a video with clips of all the students giving good wishes.  She's such a leader.

duets

 M had a recital recently and played 3 duets.  The theme was duets.  She played a duet with her teacher of a Bach Minuette.  She played a duet with B called Luminosity.  She also played a silly duet with another student that reminds me of Bugs Bunny playing the piano.

She's navigating high school everything.

Hubert

 

lP and I were at Walmart and found a big of gigantic stuffed animals.  We agreed that M needed the giant octopus.  lP enjoyed looking the complete spoiled child as she held the stuffed octopus during the shopping trip.  She decided we should put it on M's bed and wait for her to notice it.  It was hours after she came home before M ever noticed!
