What do you eat?

M has a problem, she likes to chew on her fingers and toes.
Tonight as she tried to do this I reminded her that we only eat food. She piped up with a question for me. What do you eat? Head, shoulders or food? Which one?

Her ability to sign and say completely new and unusual things astonishes me.

Amazing

Little M is singing/signing whole songs. She is putting it all together so wonderfully. I love how she works out the translations. She will sign/sing songs I've never shown her and work out the signs for the words she hears. It's funny when she signs "miss/serious" for "miss/girl." English is so tricky, and Margot does a great job of working it out and showing us where we are being confusing.

What do we do now?

M has learned to climb out of the crib. So we haven't had a real nap in 2 days and I'm hoping that we can figure out how to help her learn to stay there. But she is so agile and it's tricky to negotiate with a almost 2 year old. I go back and forth between feeling like it is so awesome that she can do all the things she does, and feeling stressed that she is so able.

She is awesome at signing. It is amazing to see the concepts that she has because of signing.

What happened?
Maybe
Want
Don't know
Where

When M wants to be understood she will keep at it until she is understood. Luckily I am psychic which helps when the sign and verbal clues don't quite ad up to anything I can think she would be saying. Last week when we were praying she wanted us to give thanks for something but we couldn't understand. We repeated what she was saying but that wasn't good enough. Finally we understood that she was saying "bounce house" which she had seen an ad for during the news.

G and M sign together and it is so cute.

Little parrot

M is beyond our keeping track of her sign language vocabulary anymore. She's on to 4-5 word sentences and surprises us everyday with the cute things she can express.

After a trip to the Hardware store she asked me if she could "Make Plant."

Any time she wants water or something to eat she puts it in a sentence "Mom I want water" or "Mom I want more cheese."

She can ask for such specific things and can even use "other." Like, "Mom, I want other shoes."

She copies almost everything that G does. This morning they were asking for "Animal movie Signing Time."

It's so awesome how she can understand and be understood.
